ABOUT DEPARTMENT:The Social Reformer and visionary personality Late Karmaveer Dr. Nivrutthi Govindrao Jagdale alias Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale, established Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Barshi in 1934. With noble objectives of enlighten the ignorant, illiterate & suppressed of people in the rural area around Barshi (Dist-Solapur, State-Maharashtra) town. Now a day so many branches from K.G. to P.G. & Ph.D. in academic professional and medical field have been strives hard to realize the dream of the founder Dr. Karmaveer Mamasaheb Jagdale by giving quality education in schools and colleges. Karmaveer Mamasaheb Jagdale Mahavidyalaya Washi established in 1972. Karmaveer Mamasaheb Jagdale Mahavidyalaya, Washi offered various graduate courses as well as Post Graduate Courses. VISION: To empower students through academic curriculum that expands their knowledge of political institution and processes. To instill social consciousness, encourages public service & civic sense. MISSION: To prepare student for active citizenship by increasing their knowledge of political institutions. Governance in local, State, National, Regional & Global communities. ABJECTIVES: • The aim of this course is to introduce students to the meaning and nature of political theory, debates as well as recent theoretical trends in the disciplines. • The course aims at helping the students know the constitution, understand its various provisions, rights, duties & dignity of every citizen. The emphasis is on secular values, liberty, equality, justice & fraternity. • Impart instruction to the students about the government and constitutions along with political development across the countries in a comparative perspective. • Introduction to the dynamic of the state politics in India as such, it focuses on the study of the evolutionary nature of center-state relationship in the country after independence. • The ideas serve as the foundation of political system. Therefore, is an attempt at teaching student’s world’s great ideas which are broadly considered as political creeds usually termed political ideologies. • Tried to address the core issues and highlight current concept in the field of international politics. • Introducing to the student’s theory and concept of International Relation. • A political thought occupies central position in the knowledge mechanism of political science, without which students cannot understand the theory debate, nor make an inquiry into the socio- political problems. In this direction this course will be helpful to them. • To acquaint the students with the concept of public administration, its theories of management and organization and to imbibe its significance as a growing discipline. • To acquaint the students with the basic concept of research and to familiarize them with latest & scientific techniques and modern trends in social research. • The course forced on selected Indian political ideas. • Through this course student will understand the meaning and changing nature of India’s Foreign policy. The course is concerned with basic approaches to the study of foreign policy and explain elements in the making of foreign policy. • Provides the students with an overview of the current trends in political theory. Study of this paper will help the students gain insight into the divergent trends in the modern political theory. • To deals with key issues related to political theory. It seeks to familiarize the students with the ever on-going debate on the concepts like liberty, equality & just social order from liberal & Marxist perspectives. Focus also on some modern analytical trends that claim to break a new ground in the study of political theory. • Indian caste ridden society has created unprecedented socio-political problems within the framework of parliamentary system. Impact of caste system has hamstrung the development process of Indian democracy.
